I don't know where I will wear this dress. But I am really pleased with myself for finishing it. It took me about a day of work to sew it up.....on my new Singer machine with walking foot. Oh, I love that walking foot...I can see it getting lots of use.
I used Simplicity 4072. I bought it earlier this year, but it took me until now to find fabric that I liked enough to use with it.
Anyway, my first completed sewing project with spandex.
And another photo of James.... We had a grevillea tree fall over during the big storms that Sydney experienced in May/June this year. We have a lovely little bush ready to put in its place, but while digging out the hole for it, we have found some more of the roots from the grevillea. So it has become a little digging ground for James until we can get an axe to chop out the roots.

OMG Belinda that is absolutely FANTASTIC. Can you tell I am excited!
wow that is a stunner! now I feel motivated to finish my knit dress that I got a bit bored of! it had over 20 pieces to it and drove me crazy but yours is excellent! I'd wear it with boots shopping, out for dinner, to church! so many uses!
well done
Corrie:)
Oh Belinda - I love it - I am like Corrie - I would wear it every where and with boots and a pair of leggings. I have a very similar dress and it is great to just throw on and go, oh and I am helping a friend make one at the moment (helping with the instructions) she is going to wear it to a weeding. Love the pattern and the plum colour with it!
wow belinda that is great!
It's very pretty and flattering.. are you wearing boots with it? LOVE it! I have a maternity pattern the same sort of style (obviously the front tummy is differant)..
Belinda that looks just brilliant, and very 'shop bought'! (That's a compliment LOL) I wish I had the figure to wear that style, I 'd just look pregnant in it...
I love my walking foot too :)
James looks cute in the garden.
That's gorgeous Belinda! Well done. Apart from my Docs, I don't own a pair of boots!
That is fantastic Belinda - you did so well! It looks like you bought it (and paid top dollar!). Well done!
I love it! It looks really great on you. And very versatile too, you can dress up or down.
Love love love it. Love that style.
Belinda! You are so clever! I would be too scared to make a dress! This looks HOT! Great job!
Oh wow Belinda, that looks fantastic!!! I bought that pattern and the last SL sale and have the fabric ready to go, just haven't had the time. I know who to bug, I mean ask politely if I get stuck ;)
I love this style dress, I have one which I bought as it was a crazy sale price and have been wanting to make more ever since.
That is a great dress! And another reminder for me to work out my walking foot... Well done, and I agree it looks totally 'bought!'
